Gobbi Creating Memories | Federico Strocchi

Describe yourself with three words.
Passionate, balanced, curious.

How do you express yourself through your look?
At work my look is classic and elegant. I like to coordinate certain styles of suits and ties, of which I am a big fan. My clothes are made by my trusted tailor, who gives me the opportunity to choose the silhouette, fabrics and colors that best suit my needs and the seasons. In my private life, my look is less conventional, with more of a dandy vibe. I wear a blazer and slacks, and separates that are always classic pieces.

How do you choose a watch for an everyday outfit? And for a special occasion?
You may have a more formal watch and one you wear every day that is part of your daily life. Of course, I’ve become fond of this object that is seen by many as a status symbol of our modern day. However, I believe that these precious timepieces represent important memories, emotions and unique moments that are capable of going beyond the purely economic value of the object.

The spiral is a symbol of the cycle of life, of expansion and development: what has been your latest important achievement?
On an entrepreneurial level, we started an important chapter twenty years ago with the company that my father created and that we later ran together. The company is part of our family history and has achieved great milestones on the Italian and international markets, with even more interesting prospects for the future. Among the spirals of my life there is certainly sailing, which has accompanied me for many years, allowing me to travel the world as a member of the Italian national team. It is surely a great spiral of growth and experience.

To whom would you give a jewel from the Fairytale collection?
To my wife, considering the spiral as a symbol of the path we have taken together and of experiences shared to infinity and beyond.

How has Gobbi 1842 helped you create an unforgettable moment?
Gobbi has been present on several occasions: the last was Christmas when my wife gave me a marvelous watch as a present. It is an object that has become part of my everyday life, cheerfully reminding me of an exciting and memorable moment.

Do you have a special place in Milan?
I like walking through the streets of the Brera neighborhood near my home, where the city reveals its most human side with little boutiques and shops. My great passion for contemporary art often takes me to visit the galleries of my adopted city or immerse myself in the numerous cultural and artistic activities during the season. The fact remains that the best aspect of Milan, besides my work here and many business opportunities, is its strategic geographical position and the countless possibilities for getting away to the mountains, lakes and sea.

Do you prefer Milan in the morning, afternoon or evening?
During the week in the evening and in the early morning on the weekend. These are the moments in which the city is most visible and its everyday controlled chaos is suspended. It reveals all of is architectural and stylistic beauty that has characterized centuries of history.
