Gobbi Creating Memories | Marco Raimondi

Describe yourself with three words.
Curious, loyal, determined.

How do you express yourself through your look?
I have classic taste and I like carefully chosen details. I prefer bespoke suits and shirts. I indulge in a few eccentric touches with socks and pocket squares. I wear casual outfits in my free time, but they are never boring.

How do you choose a watch for an everyday outfit? And for a special occasion?
My watches, which according to the family tradition have always been purchased at Gobbi, are timeless models that easily adapt to any type of outfit. I usually wear a watch with a crocodile strap in the winter, while in the summer I wear one with a metal bracelet, which is more suitable for hot weather and when sailing.

The spiral is a symbol of the cycle of life, of expansion and development: what has been your latest important achievement?
Many years after I had sat behind a school desk, I decided to attend a three-month course of Business English at a university institute of London. It was a demanding, wonderful experience that ended with satisfactory results.

To whom would you give a jewel from the Fairytale collection?
To my wife who, like me, loves understated, timeless style without forsaking originality. These are all the features that distinguish the creations of our friend Serena Gobbi.

How has Gobbi 1842 helped you create an unforgettable moment?
I don’t want to seem to exaggerate, but the Gobbi jewelry store has always been an important presence in my life: it is a special place where you go for unique occasions. My first important watch, which I received for my 18th birthday, the engagement ring I bought for my future wife, the baptism and first communion gifts for my children, and a gift I treated myself to as a reward for a professional achievement are just some of the many occasions that link me to Gobbi. I was always assisted with care, professionalism and affection by members of the Gobbi family: first by grandfather Gastone, then by Luca the father and now by his daughter Serena, who continues the family tradition after more than 170 years in the business. I hope I’ve passed on to my children, as my father did in the past, the pleasure of buying something in this special place.

Do you have a special place in Milan?
I could mention many places, but one more than any other recently fascinated me: the Atellani House with the vineyards of Leonardo. It is a precious treasure chest in downtown Milan with these special traits: behind its unadorned and almost anonymous facade hides one of the most beautiful homes in the city with a garden that is a true oasis of peace!

Do you prefer Milan in the morning, afternoon or evening?
I always like Milan, but if I have to choose a moment of the day, I would say morning, at dawn, so I can watch the city wake up and I can enjoy it without traffic and chaos.
